Browsing Service x DeliverDrivers

We had a similar question like this before regarding the free seats of a restaurant. When a browsing service now “assigns” a deliveryDriver as busy, because one casual group decided to stay at home al let the food come to them, who long does the browsing service estimate this driver as occupied, only for this tick or does it actually take the deliverydistance*2 ticks as default value?

Hello, the specification says:

The delivery will start in the tick after finishing the meals, and will last ⌈distance/5⌉ ticks. At the end of this last tick, the customers receive their meals. This time might be after the restaurant has already closed. The driver needs the same amount of ticks to return to the restaurant, before they can deliver a new order.

The browsing service also considers the following thing:

The group receives only eligible matches, based on:

  • […]
  • whether a delivery driver is currently free in case of a delivery

The occupation of the delivery driver is described above, the browsing service needs exact information about the drivers, there is no “estimation“.

So when the driver is currently returning(on his way to the restaurant) and not yet in the restaurant is the driver considered free or not?

Hi,
He is not free. He is considered free once he is back at the restaurant.
