Browsing system updates

Does the browsing system use actual data from the restaurants to get the list of dishes and available seats per table type or does it only use estimates?

Hi,
It actually does take the data from the restaurants.

To ensure that the customer groups do not flood a single restaurant with customers, the service estimates the amount of customers planning to visit a restaurant or request a delivery and uses this knowledge to update the availability of seats inside a restaurant.

This is still a bit unclear to me. If I understand it correctly, it could be that a customer group decides to go to a restaurant, but doesn’t get assigned a table for 2 ticks, because no waitstaff is available. For these two ticks, should the browsing system still consider tables for these customers unavailable?

And should it know when customers leave exactly or does it make an assumption/estimation?

Hello,
so the browsing service will basically assign the groups if there are available seats in that restaurant, but when the group actually arrives and there are no waitstaff to seat them then they leave.

For regular groups they are there and the seats are reserved full evening. For the casual groups the system just simply checks at a time, how many seats are available and whether they can have enough seats or not.

Hopefully that clarify your questions

hello,
So that means at a particular tick when the casual group wants to visit the restaurant he will choose the restaurant accordingly and will get added. So isn’t this a tick behaviour ? or is it a evening behaviour where when the evening starts we take care of the browsing service and move forward or should it be the case that every tick we call the browsing service to check which customers are arriving that tick and assign them restaurant accordingly .
Thank you

Doesn’t this contradict this part in the specifications where we estimate the number of seats according to the decisions of casual customers?

Once a cus32 tomer group has decided on a restaurant, the service reduces the number of seats according 33 to the group size, or decrements the number of delivery drivers available, so that the next 34 customer will be offered restaurants based on the updated availability estimation per table 35 type.

Yes, that is correct for the casual customer groups.
