Hallo,
What are the cases related to restaurant close and the driver either goes home or comes back to restauarnt. Can anyone please clarify

Hello,

There are two different moments:

  • Restaurant closing (openingTickEnd): Only deliveries already handed to a driver continue. The driver completes the delivery attempt and then returns to the restaurant. Orders not yet handed to a driver do not continue (page 25, lines 1-10).

  • End of the evening: A delivery still travelling toward the customer is aborted, and the driver goes home. A driver already returning to the restaurant continues returning. Other drivers go home and return for the next evening (page 25, lines 10-14).

After restaurant closing, required delivery logs are still emitted, as clarified in adjustment #18.

does this make any difference? I mean wether they go home or not, they still are there at the restaurant the next evening in the same condition.

At the end of the evening, no special log is emitted for aborted deliveries or drivers going home (so yeah, no difference this regarding).

However, the difference between restaurant closing and evening end matters because delivery logs continue after closing, as stated in adjustment #18.
