EventGroup Reservations

During the explanation on how the reservation of the Eventgroup is handled it is stated that the reservation is given to the restaurent 3 days before the actual eventEvening is taking place.

my question is in what scenario would it be necessery to distinguish / know when or on which evening the reservation of the eventGroup has been given to the restaurant.

In our current verison we dont see any point in adding the day of reservation. is there a difference between reservation and reserved if we only reserve for the specific eventEvening

Hi,
so for the event groups, they use the browsing service when they are checking the matching restaurants and they choose one as per the rules mentioned in the specification and then reserve one. Event group starts coming to the simulation in the evening 4 (the earliest) as they can reserve starting from evening 1 and they need to do that 3 evening and that is only the reservation but nothing actually happens in the restaurant. Now in the event evening the restaurant and in the preparation phase of that night the actual reservation occurs where the restaurant will merge the tables and reserve the ingredients for the groups dishes and stuff like that.

Reservation: This is the booking made 3 evenings prior. It exists as data in the Browsing Service to block capacity and notify the kitchen of the group’s expected arrival.

Reserved: This is the actual physical merging and blocking of tables in the FOH, which occurs strictly during the Preparation Phase on the actual event evening. If this physical table assignment fails during prep, a FOH No Reserving failure is logged, and the group leaves a negative rating in the first tick of that evening.

To clarify on that: We are given `" eventEvening ": 35,` as part of the json. We figure out that we need to reserve on day 32. The reservation only takes action on day 35 and can be seen as the first one taken into account on that day (aka. precedence of regulars). On that day, the BrowsingService then reduces the nr. of available seats accordingly to the event-group’s reservation.

This is meant as a question.

Yes, that is the case for the event group.
