Global recipe id clarification

Hello,

Page 19, lines 7-8:

Recipe ids are unique across restaurants.

I want to confirm if the following interpretations are correct:

  1. Recipe ids are global
  2. A recipe object (corresponding to a recipe id) can only be owned by 1 restaurant, i.e. the same recipe id cannot exist in 2 restaurants

Thanks in advance!

  1. is true
  2. I asked my tutor(@mosc00004 ) yesterday, for normal recipes this is true but for recipes that hold the basicDishFor property it is possible for multiple restaurants to obtain the same recipeId, because by default a recipe with the basicDishFor property is owned by every restaurant with that type

Hi,

I just confirmed it again, the sentence mentioned in the specification:

Recipe ids are unique across restaurants.

just means, that there is no duplicated recipe allowed in the whole simulation.

More importantly is the next sentence:

Dish names are unique per restaurant

this means that there can be duplicates in the names of the dishes, however they should not be in the same restaurant.

just for confirmation, so that means that multiple restaurants can reference the same recipeId without it needing to have the basicDishFor property?

yes that is correct.
