otherSeats - regular groups

Hello,

The otherSeats computation (for restocking) would include

  1. all unreserved tables
  2. all tables reserved for regular customers with no order history

correct? I’m a little confused about the 2nd point, hence the question.

Thanks in advance!

Great question.

I would like to add:

If we treat the seats of groups with no order history like free seats in our pantry order calculation for the day, do we differentiate between

  • regular groups that have never visited this restaurant before (really new)
  • and regular groups that already visited the restaurant but could not order (strictly speaking not new)?

Our group ran a simple (one line Test only checking this) against the reference and it seems like how you described it

I ran system tests on the reference implementation and asked in the office hour. Got this answer both times. Never ordered here is simulated as “ordering try resulted in zero created meals”.

Yes, that is correct.

No, we don’t. Both count as #otherSeats, because they do not have an order history.
