I would like to clarify how ratings are handled in ticks before a restaurant opens.
The specification states on page 25, lines 2ff.:
“At the end of the tick where in-restaurant customer groups have left the restaurant or customer groups using the delivery service have eaten their food […], or in the first tick of the evening when the reservations failed, the customer groups can rate their experience and leave a rating in the browsing and rating service.”
So, as I understand it, if a REGULAR or EVENT group has a failed reservation, the corresponding rating is already processed in tick 1, regardless of when the restaurant opens.
However, the clarification regarding opening and closing times states:
“In the ticks before a restaurant’s
openingTickStart, the simulation will not log any action or action status messages.”
and additionally:
“This means that between the log messages
[DEBUG] Restaurant Start (R $restaurant:id): Restaurant $restaurant:id simulates a tick.
and
[DEBUG] Restaurant End (R $restaurant:id): Restaurant $restaurant:id finished simulating the tick.
there will be no log messages.”
The rating itself is part of the restaurant tick processing, and according to the specification it is processed at the end of the restaurant tick.
Does this mean that, for example, for a restaurant with openingTickStart = 3, a failed reservation is processed and added to the rating service in tick 1, but no corresponding [INFO] Rating ... or [DEBUG] Rating Status ... log is output in tick 1, because the restaurant has not opened yet?
In other words: Is the rating processed in tick 1 as usual, while only its logging is suppressed before openingTickStart, rather than postponing the rating itself until the restaurant opens?
